Active Ingredient: Fusidic Acid

Concentration: Usually 2% w/w (weight/weight) – this means 2 grams of fusidic acid in 100 grams of cream.

Base: Cream base (typically includes emulsifiers, preservatives, and moisturizers like lanolin, cetyl alcohol, etc.)

Fusidic acid cream is used to treat:

Impetigo (superficial bacterial Skin infection)

Infected eczema

Infected dermatitis

Folliculitis (hair follicle infection)

Furunculosis (boils)

Minor wound infections

Secondary infections in cuts, grazes, and abrasions

Apply thinly to the affected area 2-3 times daily

Usually used for 7–10 days

Do not overuse or use longer than prescribed to avoid resistance

Generally well tolerated. Possible side effects:

Local irritation (itching, burning, redness)

Allergic reaction (rare)

Contact dermatitis

Resistance with prolonged or inappropriate use

Known allergy to fusidic acid or any excipient in the cream
